Does Study.com Business 104 IS and Comp Apps count for Computer Literacy?
#1
Hi everyone, my daughter is trying to finish up the requirements for an Associate's at Pierpont, and it's led to a question:

Does Study.com's "Business 104: Information Systems and Computer Applications" course fulfill Pierpont's Computer Literacy requirement? Or is their "Computer Science 102: Fundamentals of Information Technology" the only one that works for this?

Thanks!

Sophia's Introduction to IT is probably easier than either...

That said, if a SDC course is what's really wanted, Business 104 should also work. But we haven't had anyone try it yet, so we can't confirm until someone does.

If she does transfer in Business 104, let us know how it goes!

Basically ANY computer course should work. I haven't heard of any that won't transfer in. It has the same name as the CLEP exam, and I'm positive that one transfers in.

@SteveFoerster, what is she looking to get after the Pierpont BOG AAS?  Yes, it'll work for Computer Literacy, having said that, I would follow the recommendations on the WIKI here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Pierpont_C%26TC

Depending on where she wants to go next... When she has the requirements for the BOG AAS complete, she can continue with her certs, experience, and also go for the Coursera/TADA offerings here towards an UMPI BAS with a minor of her choice: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera

Basically, Work on the trifecta!  She'll end up with certs, degree, experience.  Here's the UMPI BAS Link: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UM...egree_Plan

A fair question! Preferably she'll do a Bachelor's in psychology, but realistically Excelsior's major in Liberal Arts will probably be her best bet. Either way, at this point it's important she reaches the AAS milestone even if it means a little credit shrinkage later on.
