Does anybody know if financial aid can be used for the cornerstone and capstone in the same semester? The Charter Oak site says that a person cannot enroll in the capstone unless they are matriculated, which it says happens on a student’s first day of class. A person is supposed to sign up for all their courses at the same time for financial aid, but this doesn't appear to be possible if a person can’t sign up for the capstone until they begin taking their cornerstone.

In the past, students have taken the cornerstone and capstone in the same semester, but it depends on your major. For example,a student could take the cornerstone in term 1,which ends in October, and thereafter take the capstone in term 2,which begins later in October.Your advisor may need to approve this before you register.

COSC does offer Financial Aid to those who qualify; usually that means you need to be half time or more in a term (which it sounds like you're trying to be with taking two courses in the same term) -

You can use loans/grants yes. You need to check which capstone you need based on your major. If it's in business / management, that's a 2-part capstone and thus you won't be able to do that AND the cornerstone in the same semester.

Can you use financial aid if the only two courses you're going to take are the cornerstone and capstone? You're supposed to sign up for both courses at the same time for financial aid purposes, the deadline being well ahead of the start of the semester, but you can't do that. You can't sign up for the capstone until after you started the cornerstone. So you can't sign up for both at the same time like you're supposed to. I asked the financial aid department about this but they didn't understand my question.

you can use financial aid but you're gonna have to take 6 credits a term to keep it going and i'm not 100% sure but i dont think you can do the capstone and the cornerstone at the same time
so you're going to have to come up with another class you want to take, basically

But they won't understand the implications of using financial aid.
I think the short answer here is "no"

If you actually have all the credits in except your cornerstone/capstone, you can email the registrar to request enrollment. If they see it's all you need, they will allow registration. Can't be at the same time, so this won't apply for anything with a 15 week capstone.

You're saying that you can ask for an exception to completing the cornerstone and a 1-part (not 2-part) capstone sequentially and can take them concurrently to meet the 6 credit requirement for using financial aid? Have you done this?
