DocMarvin's Journey to AA GenStudies and BSAST in Technical Studies
#1
So I applied last week and I got my Academic Evaluation done for AA General Studies. I haven't submitted my ACE transcript yet because I am waiting for my Straighterline courses and make the most out of my $20.

I added the AA due to my hope that I can get selected to become an instructor in a Navy tech school. The main goal is still BSAST in TS so I asked if I can have that degree plan also. I can pretty much knock-out this AA by the end of this year. I am hoping to enroll on the cornerstone by December 1. I just have to take care of this training that my unit is asking me for application for tuition assistance.

I'll update this thread often as I complete each course.

PROCTORED EXAM IN PROGRESS:

STRAIGHTERLINE
November 1 - Intro to Sociology
November 2 - Intro to World Religion

Wish me luck! First proctored exam tonight.

Thanks! Nervous. Just waiting. I still have an hour before the scheduled exam. I tried to login and I started having technical issues. Good thing I was able to open up ProctorU. The problem is my external camera decided not to work. I hope it is okay to use my laptop's built in camera.

Intro to Sociology - DONE!

Now I know how ProctorU works. It's pretty cool. The proctor is a fellow Filipino. After I'm done with my test, I went back to tell the proctor that I am ready to submit my answer. I look at the chatbox and video, it was a completely different person. Can they do that? Big Grin

I wonder who will be my proctor tonight. Intro to World Religion, you are next. 2 weeks completing the quizzes and midterm exam.

Two more courses after tonight.

Good NEWS???

I just looked at my AA degree plan. When I printed it out yesterday, it says I have 40/60sh. Now, it is 43/60sh. The Oral Comm requirement was fulfilled using my JST transcript. I don't see Fundamentals of Speech on my transcript. It was dated 10/31/2017 on my academic eval. If this is a mistake, will they take this out later on once they caught it? Good thing I haven't paid for the speech course yet. What should I do on this?

Are you also in the military? I am playing around recently on the TESU Proram Evaluation, "What If" ...

If I switch to AAS in Military Technology Leadership, the following is all what I need to take:

Information Literacy (3cr) - World Religion (Passed last night)
Civic Learning (3cr) - Sociology (Passed)
Natural World (3cr) - A&P I (Scheduled tomorrow. Going to wing this. I've been studying A&P everytime I have to take my Navy advancement exam)
Capstone (3cr) - APS-295
Cornerstone (1cr) - TES-100 - (Working on taking this on Dec 1)

Mainly, just the Cornertone and Capstone. I've read here before that the cornerstone can be waived. I'm wondering if I should switch to get this knock out and work on my BSAST in TS.

Don't forget that if you take a Study.com course, you can then get the cornerstone waived. I would do that, and take 2 courses (UL if possible).

Study.com is a bit expensive. $199/month. Given that I have to finish up 2 course in a month to make the most out of it. It's $250 for military, and I'm hoping to get tuition assistance for it and that will cost me nothing.
