Do most people use textbooks to study for clep tests? I want to take the sociology clep test but I'm having a hard time finding resources online.

For sociology I used instacert and the specific feedback section of the forum. It was enough to pass,, good luck!

I actually read the wrong reference and still passed. This exam is incredibly easy. Saylor.org has an intro to sociology open course. You can also check out ITunes U. If you really want to read a textbook, your local library should have some to check out. Not much has changed in sociology so you can use an old book.

I haven't taken the sociology CLEP, but here is the page on the collegeboard website that lists suggested textbooks you could use. I wouldn't buy them since there are other resources you could use that don't cost money, but if you'd like to have a textbook to study from here's a good list. You could check with your library, like the posts above say, to see if they have them.

I used the REA guide for this test, and it was probably sufficient on its own. However, it would be a good idea to supplement it with the InstantCert flash cards and other resources. I posted my thoughts on this exam and some helpful resources here ---> http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...post136710 Additionally, I compiled a list of specific thing to know for this CLEP; PM me if you would be interested in a copy of it.

Yep, I'll say the same: get the REA, that and CollegePlus!'s "Learning Network" was all I used.

No, College Plus doesn't provide the books, but has a list of which ones you will need for each test. For all the CLEPs, they suggest the REA books if they're available for that test.
