Department of Education gone?

Dismantling the Department of Education could significantly impact federal oversight of education, shifting responsibilities to state and local governments, but it raises concerns about consistency in educational standards nationwide.

Great stuff, I was thinking the same thing, but each and every idea has an opposite choice... I don't think they'll do anything with the USDOE, they're finding ways to save cash, yet they've not fully looked into this by doing a second or third opinion/research.

Same here, that's why people nowadays are lucky as they have alternative credit providers, back in the day, only CLEP/DSST was available until StraighterLine came about, or WGU for that matter. Then other providers joined in and so did some institutions, when WGU was being investigated for CBE/accreditation, some even pulled out of the CBE arena, like Hodges U-Power.
