Degree done. How long until diploma?
#1
I apologize in advance if this has been asked 1000 times.

I finished my UMPI degree (BABA) and have received my grades at the end of last week - 3.9 average GPA. I completed the application for graduation/degree.

Is there anything else I have to do or just sit back and wait? They will mail me a physical degree, right?

Your degree has to be conferred which takes 4-6 weeks after the session ends. After that, your diploma will be mailed to you.

Thank you, you have been very helpful answering my questions throughout this.

Now, my wife is following in my footsteps and getting a UMPI degree of her own.

Now you'll get a parchment.com email with a digital copy, and, it'd let you order your physical copy. It arrived for my friend 3 weeks after his term ended

Three weeks!? Wow. My session ended March 10, it’s been 4 weeks now, no conferral or parchment email yet. You think it’ll take the full 6 weeks?

Hmm... It's their busy time of the year, Spring Break, Easter Holiday, short staffed etc... It may take up to the full 6 weeks... At the end of the day, as long as you passed your courses and fulfilled your requirements for graduation, it's a waiting game, and you should be happy you've come this far already! Congrats to those waiting to confer, good job everyone...

I didn’t say I wasn’t happy. I finished my last five courses within a week or two into the session, so I’ve been waiting awhile now. It’s just frustrating because I was hoping to work toward a masters this spring

Jwheels27, which masters are you looking at and do you have a backup masters program you're interested in? I would apply to them and ask for conditional acceptance while you wait for the final confirmation of conferring. Some institutions will take a student as long as they have most of the requirements completed for entry into the Masters, you can even send them unofficial transcript of the completed degree while they're processing and provide the updated one afterwards.

WGU MSML or MBA. Amber ton was my backup choice.

I would apply for the master's and send the current transcript. Then send up an updated transcript once the degree is conferred. I did this and it worked out for me. Most schools are aware that it takes time for degrees to be conferred and will begin processing your application while you wait for the conferral.
