Hey, and thanks in advance for any help. So, this may be a long shot but I figured it couldn’t hurt to try.
I’m nearing completion of my AS in Occupational Safety and Health at Columbia Southern University. While I was able to transfer 39 credits and save myself some time/money, I did screw up and had to take 2 courses that I could have received credit for via a certification and a straighterline class. Lessons were learned. Now that I’m ready to continue on for my BS in OSH, I’d like to try to do it right and make sure I’m not missing anything that could give me credit.
I’ve worked out everything for my general requirements, program electives and open electives, and have about 66/69 of 90 allowable transfer credits figured out. I also have a few backup options should one or two things not apply. Previously I tried to get credit for my 40hr HAZWOPER, but I’d already taken the class that it could be credited to, so no credit was given. I’m going to submit it again and see if I may be taken this round, but I’m not expecting it to be so that’s not factored into my estimate. I’ve also ruled out OSHA 510/511 as those would apply to a course I’ve already taken.
Where I’m stuck is on my major requirements. Through my associates degree courses I have 6 of the 39 required credits done. I’m looking for information on certifications or courses through other (cheaper) colleges that will transfer for these credits, I’m currently paying $645 per 3 credit course, so anything cheaper than that is a win in my mind. I’m including a list of the courses below
ENV 4303Environmental Technology
FIR 4311Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement
OSH 2301Introduction to Workplace Safety
OSH 3301Fundamentals of Occupational Safety and Health
OSH 3302Legal Aspects of Safety and Health
OSH 3304Construction Safety
OSH 3305Industrial Ergonomics
OSH 3308Interactions of Hazardous Materials
OSH 3310Total Environmental Health and Safety Management
OSH 4301OSHA Standards
OSH 4302Toxicology
OSH 4303Industrial Hygiene
OSH 4308Advanced Concepts in Occupational Safety and Health
I apologize for formatting, I’m on my phone. Also, I already have OSH2301 and will be taking OSH3301 soon.
