After that period, one would think it's time to start thinking about how to make a living doing this. But unfortunately, the only way to do this is to do 5-10 adjunct jobs simultaneously at various colleges.
Colleges want to show a high student-to-faculty ratio, so I think that's why they often cap adjuncts at only 1-2 classes max per term. Also if one adjunct quits, they are plenty available to take the spot.
It's also to keep them out of tenure tracks, and to save on benefits.

Do you know pay range because I don't see it listed in the job ad?
Full time on campus faculty make $40,000K a year. YourPace was paying $1945 per course each term a year or so ago. That amount didn't matter how many students you had.
$1945 per course each term.
1. Are you talking about the two month terms?
2. How many hours estimated per week? There's no lectures, but, replies to student emails, office hours, administrative work and grading papers.

Whoa. That's really low. I adjunct for my local community college and have for a long time. It's semester-based (they just instituted 8-week courses last year), but I made significantly more only teaching one class per semester. I was offered a full-time faculty position recently that was a 10-month contract for $52k. If I decided to teach summer classes for two months, they paid an extra $5k. I turned them down because I make more than that now and was only teaching for fun.

You'd have to ask UMPI these questions. There's grading the Milestones as well. Many professors hold Zoom meetings with students as well. Who said there isn't administrative work? Wouldn't count on that. The adjuncts I have seen and had taught multiple courses per session. Most also taught on campus. Several of the adjuncts I had my first year at UMPI have since moved on.

Maybe UMPI doesn’t accept degrees from UMPI, haha.

Cody is the adjunct for a few classes and the academic advisor with only a UMPI Bachelors. This leads me to beleive they prefer local hires.

He is definitely local. He has an office on campus.
