Instantcert is formatted as a series of fill-in-the-blank questions, but the actual exams are multiple choice. The answers to the fill-in-the-blank questions on Instantcert are not nearly as important as the information contained in the questions and explanations themselves. "18-25" doesn't mean anything unless you also learn the context. So the fill-in-the-blank elements are really only there to help keep you focused and interactive while you learn the actual material. The goal is that, as you go through the questions and explanations on Instantcert, you will begin to assimilate the knowledge presented. Then, when you take the actual exam, you will recognize the right answer when you see it displayed as one of the multiple-choice answers. It really does work well for most people. It may seem strange that IC doesn't just present the questions in multiple choice format, just as the actual exams would. But if they did that, you would only learn the answer to one specific question, rather than gain an understanding of the overall concept. If you learn the answer to one question, and the exam gives you a different question, you are in trouble. But if you understand a concept, the exam can ask you any number of questions about that concept, and you will be equipped to answer it correctly. Don't worry too much about always getting the correct answer to the blanks. It is the concept that you must learn (by reading the questions and the explanations), not just the one or two words that happen to go into the blank spaces. I hope that makes sense, Snazzlefrag

Thanks for responding. I will stick around longer because of your response. I have never been a good test taker and if clep and dantes wasn't multiple choice I would finish my remaining 12 units in classes. Thanks again
