After taking the DANTES/DSST Astronomy exam I just found out that they can take from 4-6 weeks to deliver the results to the college. I took this test at a testing center and it was online.
My clep exams have always arrived very fast. I am confused.
Does anyone have personal experience with how long it takes for the DSST/DANTES results to get to excelsior? I was hoping to meet the cutoff for December conferral (Oct 26th).
Doesn't look good. Does excelsior give some flexibility for this?

I do not believe it will actually take that long. Sometimes that may be in the literature, but most times it is more expedited. Luckily for me, I found a test center that gives online DSST exams and all of my scores have arrived within 1 week to 10 days.

Thank you for that response. I also took the online versions (two exams last Friday), so I was wondering the same thing. I am not trying to meet any particular time frame, but it is nice to know that the computerized version should be registered with the college within two weeks!

I took my first DSST on 10/1/07 and my second on 10/2/07. Both posted to my Excelsior status report thing on 10/11/07. Hope that helps
EDIT: those were computer-based tests (CBT). I have heard that the paper DSSTs take ages, which is partially why I drove to Harrisburg (80 miles) to take the tests in the first place.

I took my first DANTES test on 17th and got my results on the 27th. People have been saying 10 days, and sure enough! My test was the Ethics in America exam, but I'm sure your will be about the same. GL
