us history exams w/ REA only?
#1
1) has anyone solely relied on REA to pass their US history exams?

2) i was at the bookstore today and looked through the us history 2 REA book and noticed how much fewer pages of material it has compared to the us history 1 REA book. i read through and highlighted my us history 1 book a few months ago but all the info has kept me from taking the exam, esp since my main priorities are my B&M courses. the us history 1 book has over 100 pages worth of text while the us hist 2 book has about 70 pages of info. can anyone tell me from experience if there is a difference in quality between these two books? if there isn't, i wouldn't mind buying the other book and memorizing 70 pages of facts instead of 100+ pages.

i know my question sounds lazy but i just desperately need a pass with minimal work. i don't have much time to dwell on this non-major subject since i overload on B&M courses and work nearly full-time. i usually like to learn history but hate being tested on it b/c there's just so much to remember in one sitting. all those crazy names and battles in us history 1 discourage me so much. and the reason behind me taking this clep exam upsets me even more b/c i technically did have a us history credit that was lost during credit transfers. sorry for the ranting in my last paragraph but please help =(

I used REA for US Hist I back in 05. I scored a 56. It was my first CLEP and remains my lowest mark to date.

I used only REA for us history 1 and passed with a 57. I think if you use the REA general book, the social science and history exam is a better bet. I found REA to be an excellent resource and scored higher on that, I think it was a 63. Anyway, it's worth double- and in my opinion- easier. Just my two cents!

i have taken the clep exams using soley the REA guides and they have done me well. high 50 and low 60 respectively. rea guides are pretty good, before i came across instantcert i used them. the only bad thing is you really have to go out of your way to find the facts from the answer explanations by making separate study guides from all the facts. instantcert seems a lot easier.
