I just took this test Fri 8/1/08. I had the choice on the computer to take the older test w/old scoring method, or the new 2008 version with the weird scoring. I took the old version! I knew Excelsior College would give me a letter grade for it! WOW what a hard test! My brain was like ok I am leaving your head now hilarious ! Anyway, I scored a 50 which is good for a "B"!
Hope this info helps!~

Taking Stats this week - is instantcert material on track? I'm also watching the berkeley webcasts. Dread trying to memorize those formulas!

IC is okay on this one. I floundered around a little until I had a good gut feel, then took the test. Watch the last few videos of the annenberg media VOD (there is a link in the specific exam feedback section). The Z score, and Null Hypothesis (sp?) were all over my exam. I also had a ton of pretty easy probability questions (Take 2 cards out of a deck...). I didn't know anything (nothing, zip) from questions 2-10 on the test. After that it was all good.

InstantCert was very good. Just don't spend too much time on the Z scores thing. You just need to know what they are. The complete idiot's guide helped me a lot, but it also confused me since it varies from InstantCert methods.

is good, but it went TOO far in depth! I was freaking myself out! I had so many probability ??'s and that was my weakness........I was good on hypothesis, regression and correlation, and the basics........I guessed on around 30-40 questions. I had a 101 questions with question 1 just info...(so only 100 questions counted). I am just so happy I passed!!!!

Is this exam more word problems or definitions and understanding of statistics? for example could a person who is not good in math use IC cards in a week and pass? or one needs a foundation in it?

You need a GOOD basic understanding of the foundations of statistics!
There is math to figure out, but not as much as I thought there would be. If you have a good understanding of what all the topics mean you can figure out what the answer needs to be. Follow the DSST guide on this one! It sticks to the topics it presents! No surprises!
