DSST Ethics in America essay question

I took the Ethics in America DSST last month, and I did not expect there to be an optional essay. But there, for the last question, was an essay question asking me to assess two different ethical situations. I don't recall it giving me any guidance about the length of the essay.

I just ignored it, and received my grade, and got the credit from Excelsior.

Did anyone else encounter this, and were you expecting it?

EDIT: Hmm, guess I'm just blind. Went back and read the description and it does say there's an optional essay. Still find it odd that there's no guidelines for said essay.

There are no guidelines because the essay is not evaluated into your score for this exam. If the optional essay is required by your college, a copy of the essay is printed out and included with your official score report that is sent to the school. It is then up to the school what they do with it (why they required it).
