International credit evaluation
#1
What is the best organization/website for getting an international training certificate evaluated for college credit?

I completed the NEBOSH IGC which the well-known organization claims is a NQF/QCF Level 3 or A-Level Standard in the UK. As I understnad it, this is the US equivalent of an associates level cirriculum of 2 years of college coursework.

I guess what I am hoping to accomplish is getting the coursework evaluated for transfer in to Columbia Southern for possible credit in the Safety program in safety specific courses. I already have most of the other gen ed coursework completed and evaluated and now need to concentrate on the safety specific course credit that I am lacking for completion of an AS.

Any suggestions?

Although A-Levels are US "college-level" education, one A-Level is typically equivalent to about two lower-division courses in the US. If you get this evaluated by a foreign credential evaluator, I'm confident you'll get credit, but I doubt it would be proportionate to the time required to get the qualification, especially because of individual school transfer policy

It depends on the school what they will award. It is up to the school to decide which evaluation service they will have you use and how the packet will be transferred to them. You should check your schools policy for International students. You won't enroll as an international student but the policy will apply to your British Education and its evaluation. Excelsior had a policy that you had to use ECE and once the transcript came to your house you sent it in a sealed envelope to their transcript department. This doesn't work like that anymore as ECE needs to send the evaluation to Excelsior directly for it to be valid. TESC has a similar policy as does ASU I haven't dealt with your school so you'll have to do your research. Don't expect your enrollment adviser to know the correct steps as international credit questions are best answered by the transcription receipt department at your particular college. The advice of many here is do your own research and be ready and able to send a link to it while speaking to someone on the phone.
In my case I had to send notarized copies of my Irish certificates to the evaluation service and I also included a flash drive with the syllabus for each course I took. Overkill I know but with 27 credits on the line a bit of extra information gathering is always worth the effort.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

I used ACCRAO. I felt the service was very good, I had them send two transcripts to different schools and then later had a third transcript sent to another school. I would recommend them, no hiccups for me.
