So I ran into an issue... I was going for a second BS in CIS or FINANCE at TESU. While getting all the required credits via an associates degree (which I earned in June), I completed all of my requirements for Finance but not CIS (except for Captstone).
So TESU emails me and says that because I earned an Associates Degree, all of my credits for my AOC, have to be brand new.
I am very annoyed and upset as I spent a lot of time doing pre-recs and the sort.
So now I have a few options, retake all the classes for the Area of Concentration, but I don't know what is the best venue to do this.
6 credits can be lower level, and 12 credits must be upper level.
-----
I prefer cleps and dsst but that is only 3 credits for what I need. (,3 credits upper level (DSST - Management Info Sys))
I saw SOPHIA for one course in CIS. (3 credits - 100 level)
I have an option for 3 credits at TEEX (I believe 3 are upper level)
That is 9 credits.... with 3 being lower level
I need 3 credits in programming (3 credits lower level) and 3 credits in Database
SDC - There is DATABASE Management, which is 3 credits upper level
That gives me 9 credits lower upper level, and 6 credits lower level. After this I need 1 more class. Which I would love to have any help with.
Now with Finance.....
I am see
DSST Money and Banking - 3 upper level credits
DSST Principles of Finance - 3 credits lower level
I don't see anything else.
Help please...
So after that I need
DSST Environment & Race to Save Humanity * 51/80 Clep CIS 63/80

The easiest way to look into this is to get more details. What previous Associates and Bachelors did you get before this second Bachelors you're going for? Probably the best thing to do right now is to create a copy/paste screenshots or a PDF of your academic evaluation, it'll show what's missing and what's been taken before. You want to make sure all the information but your personal details are showing, I need to see what is in the "other field" and also in the "notes" at the bottom...

Students who wish to earn a second baccalaureate degree must complete a minimum of 24 additional credits in the area of study/core beyond the date the most recent degree was completed.
Courses completed beyond the date all prior degrees were completed will be labeled as "NEW". Capstone courses can be considered as 3 NEW credits under this policy.
The University will not award a third baccalaureate degree.
Graduates of TESU who are returning for a second degree should note that the capstone courses LIB-495 (for the TESU BA degrees) and APS-401 (for certain BSAST degrees) are degree-specific and therefore will have to be retaken and will count towards the required NEW credit.
Based on University policy, all general education requirements, other than those considered specific degree requirements will be considered satisfied based on the completion of a first bachelor's degree from a Institutionally-accredited US institution. Your evaluation will show only those general education requirements that must be completed as part of your degree program.

Either the person who sent you the email is wrong, or you're reading it wrong. You do NOT need all new courses after getting an AA - otherwise, what's the point in getting an AA? Makes no sense. I also just know from experience that this is completely untrue.

I guess they are going by this
https://tesu.smartcatalogiq.com/current/...of-Degrees
Earning a Second or Successive Baccalaureate Degree
Students who have earned a baccalaureate degree from TESU or an accredited institution recognized under the Thomas Edison State University Transfer Credit Policy and wish to earn an additional baccalaureate degree must:
- Complete a minimum of 24 credits including the required capstone for the degree. These credits must be in the area of study and/or core of the degree. These credits must be earned after the date the most recent degree, regardless of academic level, was conferred.
- Additionally, students must complete all other degree requirements as listed in the current Thomas Edison State University Catalog.
But if you could point to something else I would appreciate it.

That's a confusing post, without much details, we won't know how to help more. In your academic evaluation, it should indicate where your Associates and Bachelors are from. I assume the Associates is from another college/university, and maybe one of the Bachelors was from somewhere else as well OR, you have a BA History/BA Natural Science awarded as a double major for your previous degree at TESU. If you have two Bachelors degrees at TESU already, that's all they will allow. Email academic advising what your options are...
