DAVAR, SOPHIA, COOPERSMITH, etc - creationstory - 08-06-2021 So I ran into an issue... I was going for a second BS in CIS or FINANCE at TESU. While getting all the required credits via an associates degree (which I earned in June), I completed all of my requirements for Finance but not CIS (except for Captstone). So TESU emails me and says that because I earned an Associates Degree, all of my credits for my AOC, have to be brand new. I am very annoyed and upset as I spent a lot of time doing pre-recs and the sort. So now I have a few options, retake all the classes for the Area of Concentration, but I don't know what is the best venue to do this. 6 credits can be lower level, and 12 credits must be upper level. ----- I prefer cleps and dsst but that is only 3 credits for what I need. (,3 credits upper level (DSST - Management Info Sys)) I saw SOPHIA for one course in CIS. (3 credits - 100 level) I have an option for 3 credits at TEEX (I believe 3 are upper level) That is 9 credits.... with 3 being lower level I need 3 credits in programming (3 credits lower level) and 3 credits in Database SDC - There is DATABASE Management, which is 3 credits upper level That gives me 9 credits lower upper level, and 6 credits lower level. After this I need 1 more class. Which I would love to have any help with. Now with Finance..... I am see DSST Money and Banking - 3 upper level credits DSST Principles of Finance - 3 credits lower level I don't see anything else. Help please... So after that I need RE: DAVAR, SOPHIA, COOPERSMITH, etc - bjcheung77 - 08-06-2021 The easiest way to look into this is to get more details. What previous Associates and Bachelors did you get before this second Bachelors you're going for? Probably the best thing to do right now is to create a copy/paste screenshots or a PDF of your academic evaluation, it'll show what's missing and what's been taken before. You want to make sure all the information but your personal details are showing, I need to see what is in the "other field" and also in the "notes" at the bottom... RE: DAVAR, SOPHIA, COOPERSMITH, etc - rachel83az - 08-06-2021 Not sure what you have already. Check out https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sample_TESU_General_Education_Requirements_Roadmap for possibilities. There are links to CIS and Finance suggestions. AAS in Finance ... and now seeking another BS (TESU) ... so third BS degree RE: DAVAR, SOPHIA, COOPERSMITH, etc - dfrecore - 08-06-2021 (08-06-2021, 12:47 PM)creationstory Wrote:(08-06-2021, 12:43 PM)dfrecore Wrote:(08-06-2021, 12:37 PM)creationstory Wrote:(08-06-2021, 12:02 PM)dfrecore Wrote: Either the person who sent you the email is wrong, or you're reading it wrong. You can't get a 3rd BA at TESU. So all of the above is moot at this point. RE: DAVAR, SOPHIA, COOPERSMITH, etc - bjcheung77 - 08-06-2021 That's a confusing post, without much details, we won't know how to help more. In your academic evaluation, it should indicate where your Associates and Bachelors are from. I assume the Associates is from another college/university, and maybe one of the Bachelors was from somewhere else as well OR, you have a BA History/BA Natural Science awarded as a double major for your previous degree at TESU. If you have two Bachelors degrees at TESU already, that's all they will allow. Email academic advising what your options are... |
