DANTES Lifespan Development Psychology
#1
An Irish Greeting from the Irish Coast,

Any study guide or study tip recommendations for this DANTES exam? Is there any on-line information available?

Has anyone taken this exam? I could have sworn I saw flashcards for this one out on InstantCert.

Thanks.

Welcome IrishCoast,

I believe the content of the DANTES Lifespan Development Psychology exam overlaps substantially with the CLEP Human Growth & Development exam. Therefore, studying the HG&D section of Instantcert should be extremely beneficial.

The DANTES factsheet will tell you exactly what you need to study:

Also, here are a few online links that may be helpful:

Hi All,

I just got back from taking DANTES Lifespan Development Psychology.

My initial feeling is that this exam was "quite easy". I whizzed through the vast majority of the questions because they involved extremely straightforward recall of names, theories, concepts, fact, etc. But there were also several questions where I couldn't narrow down the answer choices, and had to guess. These were mostly 'trend' type questions (girls are more likely than boys to....40-50 year olds tend to do better than 60 year olds at....most teenagers in the 1990s felt that....)

There were 97 questions on my version of the exam, and I finished in about 80 minutes.

This exam is basically the DANTES version of CLEP Human Growth & Development, but under a different name. CLEP is timed and pass/fail, DANTES is untimed and graded. So take your pick!

Instantcert's section on HG&D will probably prepare you adequately for this DANTES exam. I already posted some additional links that you might find useful.

Here are some items that I encountered on MY version of this exam:
(your version may/will cover other items)

Hi All,

I got my score for DANTES Lifespan Development Psychology in the mail today. I scored a 68.

Snazzle,
This information was really helpful. I took Lifespan Developmental Psych today (9/6) and I was much more confident than when I took CLEP HGD (I Got a 49). I HOPE I passed. Now, the wait begins!!!

I am thinking about taking this test tomorrow. Do I need to be concerned about the overlap this test has with Human G&D (which I've already taken)?

There are other posts saying that EC will not accept both as they overlap. Guess it would depend on the particular school.

That is also why there are comments about CLEP being pass/fail and DSST is for a grade, and that you have an additional 30 minutes to take it DSST than the CLEP (2 hours vs 90 mins)....to help those who want to decide which ONE to take.

Check out past forum posts to see if there are any comments on your particular school.

this could be slightly OT....but the AP psychology exam is very easy to take, if you don't care which credit exam you take. i didn't take an AP psych class, but studied it on my own the week before and passed with a 4. (i'm not a psych wiz either lol) - it's just fairly easy to self-study for....anyway good luck with whatever you do :o

Aren't AP exams given only one time a year?

How many credits do they generate and are they LL or UL?

Thanks,

Judy

Hi all, I'm a newbie here, I've been reading your posts. You guys use other study material with the Instantcert Academy mock exams right? I joined Instant cert becasue I thought I wouldn't have to buy each book.
Thanks Brenda
