Basically, I get students to start dual enrollment when they're 16 and a junior instead of when they're a senior, as most programs for dual enrollment require the student to be 16. When does the prospective student turn 16? An example is to get a cert, diploma, or even a degree by the time they graduate high school. Please see below, I suggest the following...
They can start with ACE/CLEP now to get the hang of online education and then try dual enrollment for RA credit for max transfer opportunities plus GPA purposes. Plus, if they get enough RA credits for residency purposes, they can use CLEP/ACE to max out the transfers and be able to complete an associates at the community college!
Wisconsin has dual enrollment and it's FREE for high schoolers (not sure if homeschoolers get the same thing, you got to ask), that's the main reason to do dual enrollment, you're not having to pay for ACE providers such as Sophia.org, see here: https://www.wtcsystem.edu/programs/other...al-credit/
If for some reason Wisconsin doesn't allow homeschoolers, you can try another state, such as WV at Pierpont. Dual enrollment is just $65/credit. If you want upper level credit, try petition for it at West Virginia University for $75/credit! If you need more classes, you can try NMJC (New Mexico) or SUU (Southern Utah University) as they're also $75/credit.
