huh... they emailed me saying
I couldn't use that link because I must be a homeschooler to use it.
Luckily I *am* a homeschooler, so emailed them back saying that. I shall have to see what happens.

That's well over a year away. . . if you're taking the classes now, have them transcripted and sent to your school ASAP. Once they're on your transcript, any change in ACE status will not affect you.

Debbie,
Thanks for sharing what you have found out. I'm feeling pretty confident that ALEKS is a great way to earn credit for now. Like you, my kids are working through the classes, so I hope they continue!!

If anyone has any luck completing 70% then having the course show up on an ace transcript please post.
Thanks,
Dave

I finished Intermediate Algebra!
It took me roughly 50 hours. I can honestly say I learned a lot more from ALEKS than I ever did studying for a CLEP or DSST.
At times, it was a giant pain because of having to go over and over and over the same things, but it definitely pounded the information in my head.
It is on my ACE transcript now, so Iâm sending it on over to TESC. Iâm hoping it applies for the remaining class I need in my Natural Sciences/Math area. If not, itâll be a free elective.
I'm done!
B.A. English, TESC, completed December 2008
Tests passed: A/I Lit-73, Mgmt-71, Amer Lit-73, Tech Writing-64, Criminal Justice-56, Here's to Your Health-65, Law Enforcement-60

Anyone start out with a high number of expected hours?
My report says at this rate I'd need 17 weeks to finish PreCalculus!

I am right now taking Pre-Calculus and have roughly completed 32%. I am learning alot more than that I would have learned for CLEP/DSST and the pace is also very slow.
anyhow, can someone please post if they have been successfull to get ACE transcribed after just 70% of the course.
Thanks

Your rate will change after each assessment. My son's has changed about 5 times. It's all over the place- his first assessment said 5 weeks, then it went to 17, then to 12, then to 20, etc. It keeps changing based on your gain (I think) and the rate of gain. I wouldn't worry about it too much and just keep on plodding along!!

Regarding the amount required to get credit transcribed - I asked ALEKS about whether they would approve a request to transcribe the credit to ACE after one had completed 70% of the course of if one had to complete the whole course, and they replied "70% is correct; this should be achieved by assessment (in other words, the blue bar in your History view should be 70% or greater, not the blue plus the green)." Cheers!
