Hi all,
I am trying to get feedback before I email TESU. I just emailed them about something else, and I don't want to confuse them. Sometimes when I send more than one email before I get a reply, they will ignore my first email, and I really don't want that to happen!
I am doing the TESU BSBA and I need suggestions to fulfill these requirements using Straighterline or Study.com hopefully:
--Business/Society (seems like there are several types of classes that could fit into this area? The eval says "Int'l Management, Int'l Marketing, Int'l Business")
--Managerial Communications - can I use Straighterline Business Communications here? Or is that not the same thing?
Thank you all!

Business/Society - use Study.com's BUS 120: International Business here. No option through SL.
Managerial Comm - you can use a bunch of different options, and yet, SL will work. Study.com's BUS 113: Business Communication will work as well.

Thank you!! I also forgot to ask, is there a Straighterline option for Principles of Finance? I didn't see one on their TESU page.
I thought i read a thread from someone saying you can take Finance 104, Financial Management at Study.com instead of the regular principles of finance.

Yup, that was me. I recommend taking the whole lot from Study.com instead of wasting a month membership at StraighterLine for just one course. So, if you are taking all three at Study.com it could be done in 1 month, and 1 extra course at $70.

SL doesn't have a finance course. Study.com's course has a pretest, meaning its possible to test out of a lot. So it's worth it to take the regular Prin of Finance course in my opinion. Also, Financial Management is only 2cr, so I'm not sure what TESU does about that (meaning if you took it, and brought everything else in the core in as 3cr courses, and all of the AOS as 3cr courses, what would they do to get you to the full number of credits? I have my doubts that they would let you take that remaining 1cr in Free Electives, but I could be wrong).

The Finance 101 and 104 courses are slightly different. ACE recommend the 101 as a 3 credit and 104 as a 2 credit course. However, each institution takes it in differently. Since you’re going to TESU, it’ll work fine taking either. You can email advising to be sure, but it’s listed in the transfer tab as the same thing to Finance 101 as they both transfer as Fin 200 - Intro to Finance 3 credits.
If you were going with Excelsior, I would recommend Fin 101 as Fin 104 isn’t listed for their transfer tab. And for COSC, they specifically take Fin 104 as a 3 credit course as Fin 101 comes in as an elective. Just for fun, I looked at UOP and the Fin 101 is 3 credits elective and Fin 104 only comes in as a 2 credit elective.
Since you’re proactive in making sure all credits come in properly and into their respective spots, email TESU advising and ask if Fin 101 or Fin 104 will satisfy the finance requirements and if they come in as 3 credits. Tell them you want to have it added to your degree as a pre-planned course. It’ll show up when you do the what if option, and it’ll show equivalency as well as the amount of credits.

Make sure you ask what will happen if it comes in as 2cr and so you won't have the required number of credits for the degree.

Hey guys good evening, I'm wondering does Thomas Edison State University still accept Study.com FIN 101 Principles of Finance course as equivalent to their FIN 301 Principles of Finance course?
