Coursera - Free online courses through December 31 2020

Well, unless you're taking courses as part of a micro-degree or some kind of college partnership program. It may be a good way to prepare for a CLEP, TECEP, or UExcel exam though.

There is one that will earn credits: the Google IT certificate. That's the only one unless/until other Google courses give credit.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

There is one more besides that: (ISC)² Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Quote:The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT) has evaluated and recommended 3 college credit hours for completing a Training Seminar for the SSCP.

Unfortunately that particular program is not included on the free coursera programs or the coursera+ program and is not eligible for financial aid either so the only way to take it is to pay over $1K which obviously isn't worth it for anyone paying out of pocket.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply they couldn't be used for ACE credits or college partnerships. I was just parroting the disclaimer that Coursera mentions on the paid courses which indicates that completing the paid courses will not earn you college credit from the school offering the courses. (Though this isn't 100% true, since some schools apparently use their Coursera courses for remote classes, so you could earn credits if you're an active student.)

In any case, yes, you could still earn ACE credit or use those course certificates to waive requirements at some schools. Plus you can always use the course prep for PLA and or to pass other exams as I mentioned above. Sorry if this omission confused anyone.

That said, for some reason I thought there was more than two ACE credit recommended Coursera courses.
