I took an English101 Composition and Language course at the my last school, Art Institute Online, which I'm guessing would be accepted for transfer into Excelsior and hopefully satisfy the 3-credit WER (Written English Requirement). What I want to know is, if that course does satisfy the WER and is awarded 3 credits, would I still be able to take the one of the CLEP English exams such as English Composition or Freshmen College Composition to earn 6 credits to fill in my elective requirements? Or would it be considered a duplication? I also want to transfer in a College Math 1 course from Art Institute. Where would this be applied to? Free Electives? And if I take an ALEKS math courses like Intermediate Algebra or College Algebra, would it duplicate with the College Math 1 course?
Also, would it be wise to do as many CLEPs and DSSTs as possible to earn quick and cheap credits? Or is there a better way? Thanks!
