The process I used went something like this:
FRIDAY: Download all of the posts for the respective exam, then copy/paste all of the Instacert flashcards so I could print/review on paper. Anything on the posts I didn't see in the flashcards I looked up/printed from Wikapedia.
SATURDAY: Read the flashcards, some 80 pages when printed. Using a highlighter I would mark anything I didn't already know.
SUNDAY: After going through the cards in this manner I would reread just the highlights. During this review I would write notes on the paper adjacent to the flashcard notes on anything I didn't remember from the first read. This review was much quicker than the first where I read all of the flashcards. After that, still on Sunday, I would do a third review where I read just the handwritten notes. I would highlight the handwritten notes that I did not remember so well. Sort of whittled down the info on three reviews.
On Monday I read just the highlighted handwritten notes. Then took my test that morning.
This worked very well for CLEP and DANTES, scoring "A's" or A-level grades on every exam. Excelsior exams however I didnât do so well. You can see those grades I missed the B grade cutoff by one point on many of those exams.
I also took exams on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Same process, but I only could get two reviews before testing. I looked at the Average Scores and took the easier tests on those days since I could only study a few hours in the evenings.
Good luck, ICS
