Clep Suggestion in History
#1
Hello,

If you had a choice to take one of the History Clep exam, which one would be the most easiest to take.
I have a problem memorizing and not good at test taking so i know is going to be work for me to study.
Any recommendation would greatly appreciated.

1. US History II to 1865-present

2. Western Civilization I

3. Western Civilization II

These are all generally straight forward. I have saw somewhere that actual dates don't seem to be super important to remember if you have trouble with that. I would recommend taking any of them really. Get yourself the REA guide off amazon for whatever one you want to take. Just go to amazon and search "CLEP Western Civ I" they usually run around 25$ give or take. If you look at the most recent pass/fail rates Western Civ I have the highest pass rate at 67%. 1463 took it and 979 passed it. History of US II was second at 55% with 4453 taking it and 2427 passes. Western Civ II was the lowest at 52% with 1299 taking it and 679 passing.

Also sign up for Instacert to get access to the test specific feedback and instacert itself. I would see it being really hard to fail a CLEP with Instacert, The Specific Feedback Forum, and a REA Guide w/ test. But maybe that's just me.

Just know that Western Civ both cover longer periods of history, and more of the world. It also depends on what you already know about the subjects. I personally would know more about US History than Western Civ.

Agreed. Both Civs are butt-kickers. Go for US II

Even if your young, likelihood is that you have been around and seen modern history...I think this gives you a leg up on US History 2.

True if you where in High School in American and took History you probably know a decent % of US History II. From what I noticed is its basically HS History with some extra details thrown in. But once again that is my opinion and may not be the same for everyone.

The current US History 2 exam version was published in 2001 - so there is possibly some 9/11 on there, but nothing newer.
