Clep Study Guides useful for Straighterline Courses?
#1
Does anyone know if the Clep study guides are useful for straighterline courses? I am taking 4 social studies SL courses (US history 1 and 2, history civilization 1 and american govt.). My school is giving me credit for the 4 classes so I don't have to pay (just the $100 monthly charge) so I'm going with SL over Clep. I need a 70% in each course for credit so unsure if studying the Clep study guides would help get me there, or would I need to read the entire textbooks.

Thanks guys for the help.

bhome83, It seems to me that there is certain topics that CLEP and Straighterline along with UC Berkley all seem to cover in there courses that are similar across U.S History I and II and Western Civilization CLep prep If you have time to walk the dog or drive to work then I recommend UC Berkley's audio History 7B for U.S History II regardless of where you take it along with "biography of America" videos 13 onwards. For U.S History I UC Berkley 7A audio and biography of America 1-13. For Western Civ II there's UC Berkley History 5 via archive.org along with "The Western Tradition" videos 25 through 53. and for Western Civ 1 view the Western tradition 1 through 25. E Weber the lecturer was reputed to have been the greatest historian of all time, although Josephus might have something to say about that you'll find he's easy to watch and provides good visual example that will cover a lot what SL or anyone else will cover in a Gen Ed class on Western Civ.
