Anyone know if they work weekends? A Sophia rep emailed me on a Sunday last fall.. my friend failed the final milestone & he needs them to reset it.

I hated Intro to Ethics too. All that philosophical stuff is just a white noise for me.
I have an idea - Sophia should put info that The Philosopher's Song is pre-requisite to these two classes  Idea
I agree Intro to Ethics was not fun !

I *loved* Greek Philosophers and enjoyed the Ethics course. But math, I abhor that with my whole being.

This has been the most interesting thing about the whole Sophia experience for me. I loathed math of any kind in high school, swore to avoid it in college, and picked my degree program specifically because I could fulfill the "math" requirement with Natural Sciences.

I very much enjoyed Greek Philosophers, too, even though I found it challenging, since my Philosophy knowledge was weak going in. Ethics really stumped me, I found it hard to grasp how there could be so many wild variations of right and wrong, so that course was very slow going for me.

But the crazy part was, I took Algebra and Stats, only because they were free and I had taken pretty much everything else they offered. I found them both dry and tedious, but otherwise, not particularly challenging. Just followed the formulae. In the end, I guess I surprised myself.

Well, that's encouraging. I'm tackling the classes I didn't previously have credit for - including a lot of the basic business classes in case I decide to go for a BSBA sometime too. I made it through Stats, though it got to be quite the slog near the end. Maybe I just might be able to pull off Algebra too...

If you're not intending to take further maths, then the Sophia Algebra course is pretty easy to get through. If you're hoping to move on to calculus or whatever, the Sophia course is not the greatest.
