CSM is free for folks in West Virginia
#1
I found this when I was looking up college stuff in West Virginia.  I already took statistics for my degree at Pierpont; however, if I need another math class, I will take CSM once I move.

Edit:  It's the CSM Learn course that people mention here on the forum.  I had never heard of it until I found DegreeForum.

But what is it?  I have seen people mention CSM Learn.  When I look at the sites I see a bunch of mentions of “CSM” certificates and whatnot.  But what is “CSM”?  Computers Science Math? Credit Sales Monthly?  Criminals Stop Me?  Criminey Sakes Matilda?  Could’ve Said More?

Maybe it was smacking me in the face and I missed it.  (Probably true).

I like your ideas for the meanings.

I'm not sure the acronym is obvious.  I have a vague memory that someone told me it was Core Skills Math.

here's link to download the curriculum guide for what is covered in the course. They use the words "Core Skills" a lot so I think that's why someone told me Core Skills Math.  But I can't seem to verify it.  have to scroll down about 2/3 of way to see the curriculum guide...

It could well be Core Skills Math, but I don't remember seeing anyone (including CSMLearn/SeeMore) saying what it actually means.

Thanks!  That could make sense.  Usually when something is an acronym, the full meaning is spelled out in the beginning.

Oh, I have another one.  Crime Stopping Mamas

Yeah, basically a quantitative literacy course, they seem to be preparing students for higher math using a set of comprehensive supplemental math - more math/stats combo I think. It's a good course, most people should be able to finish it in 15-20+ hours. I wouldn't rush it, self-paced courses should be rewarding for those who have math-phobia.

Thanks. I’ll have to remember to circle back to this.  Actually, my son might need it if he decides to go forward with college.  algebra was brutal.

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
