Anyone have an idea why the registrar at COSC would place a hold on my son's account?
He got an email from them last week saying something like they thought his email was hacked, but we didn't see anything unusual- changed his password and went on with life. He got a second email asking him to submit a pic of his driver's license and she wanted to talk to him. He sent in a pic, called and got voice mail- left a message. He got ANOTHER email saying she got his pic and voice mail but really needed to confirm his identity since his account was being accessed from more than 1 device. My son sent ANOTHER email saying we have 1 family computer on ethernet, he has a laptop he uses wirelessly, and of course his phone- that he logs in from all of the above. She sends another email saying she needs to talk to him (this morning) he wrote back saying he was off work, no problem. He called- again voice mail.
I'm not even 100% sure what a registrar's hold is, but his advisor told him she can't make changes to his degree plan without the hold being lifted. My son is off work today/tomorrow, so we hopefully will get this resolved. Anyone have this happen to them??

Curious-- what ended up being the problem?

Honestly, we don't know. They didn't say. My son had her on speaker and I was there, but she asked him his name -birthday-address, and told him he was ready to go. VERY strange.

Was this hold on his account around the time of his initial evaluation? I had a hold to that lasted until all of my transcripts had arrived, evaluated and placed in the system. Couldn't process any changes until after that. I did not have the hacked email problem though.

Trying to remember the exact sequence- I *think* he had his initial eval done by then, but I can't be sure. I still don't know what it was about, but my second son's degree progress is this week, he needs the cornerstone, hope I can get him registered/enrolled/graduated very quickly.
