Mentor Torsiello! That's why I decided to pick online course. He had very good reviews

According to ratemyprofessors, lots of people have gotten straight A's in the course so it can't be too hard. I have
seen the textbook and it looks like a lot of work. Definitely would recommend Bryon Torsiello just looking at reviews. 

The last thing you want is a "not quite my tempo" type of teacher in a hard course. That would be a recipe for how to lose your mind.

Generally, it's ideal to go with the online course if you want to shoot for a high grade. The free forum points do make a difference. Unless the GS has a better professor and it's known to be a hard course would be an exception.

No, I have the mentor who'll be teaching the Online course in April.

He makes a weekly announcement post with the assignments due that week and posts the occasional reminder about late penalties. He's pretty quick to answer clarifying questions posted to the public "Ask the Mentor" forum.

How about the exams? Have you taken one already?

Out of curiosity, why didn't you go with the SDC course? Trying to hit residency requirements?

I actually met the residency requirement through an atypical (without the capstone) 16-credit term: three 3-credit courses, PLA-100, and two e-Packs.

I figured taking core classes (like Data Structures and Computer Architecture) for graded RA credit would be helpful if I later decided to take graduate computer science classes. I'd probably do that as a non-degree student, so I think being able to point to specific RA classes might make things easier.

Makes sense! Thanks for your updates along the way. This is helpful. Might still go with the TESU course option myself, depending on how the TESU/SDC CompSci agreements continue to shake out.

What 2 ePacks did you take? How many hours did you study for them? Any study advice?

One student took Computer Architecture at WGU, and he said it did transfer into TESU as a UL. He also took software engineering, but the course transferred in TESU as LL. $3500 for one course isn't worth it for most. He was on a Pell Grant, so it was free pretty much.

Computer Concepts and Applications (CIS-107): I didn't purchase a subscription for Cengage MindTap. I took the practice test once and read a couple of sections in the OER textbook. I use LibreOffice more than I do Microsoft Office, but it was still an easy enough exam. Less than 2 hours of studying

Industrial Psychology (PSY-363): I took each module's quiz before/after skimming the relevant textbook chapters. I skimmed the glossary the day of the exam. When I had a subscription to SDC, I watched the first few lessons. Approximately 8 hours of studying and I decided to take Saylor's Organizational Behavior exam afterward
