CLEPs DSSTs and ECEs Oh My!
#1
I've compiled my list of exams that I will be taking to get my BA in Psych. I do well in English so I figured I would start out with those CLEPs first. My question is: If I feel ready enough, can I take more then one CLEP in a day or is that against the rules? If this has been asked already I'm sorry, I tried to search for an answer to this but didn't have much luck. I'm hoping to take the following CLEPS together though probably not all in one day more like two if possible: College Composition, Analyzing & Inter. Lit., English Lit. and American Lit.

Any suggestions? Yay or Nay? Rolleyes

If you are just starting out, have you considered double majoring, having English as another major? I personally really like the idea of a double major and suggest it to anyone who has the opportunity to do it. You have to get those credits from somewhere anyway Smile

Which school are you going to? As far as I know, Charter Oak still awards credit for GRE exams, up to 18 per exam. If you are good in English, you could bang out that exam and be well on your way. (although my double major suggestion doesn't apply to COSC, since they do not allow you to do that)

The number you can take in one day is up to the testing center you are using. Those four might be doable (say two before lunch and two after), but don't push yourself too hard- if you feel exhausted after two or three, stop there.

EDIT- MC, does Charter Oak award a double concentration? I don't think so. She can do it at TESC or Excelsior, though.

Wow, I'm sorry. My mind is a little fuzzy this morning... ok, fine it is a LOT fuzzy, and not just this morning hilarious I COMPLETELY misunderstood your question, but hey, I think my ideas are still good ones to consider Confusedeeya:

Maniac Craniac while the idea of double majoring is appealing I just don't think there are enough hours in the day for me to figure out all the details for another major! Thank you for the suggestion and who knows down the road I may decide to double major. Smile Have either of you taken the four exams I mentioned? Any advice or tips on them?

I've taken English Lit, American Lit, and A&I Lit. The best advice I can give is check out the search functions and specific exam feedback posts (if you have access to them). Honestly, the most useful info on English Lit for me was found in the general forums. If you do well on A&I Lit, you should do decently on English Lit, as it is about 40-60% the same type of test as A&I Lit. I found A&I Lit to be an ok test, but rather dry in the material which had me bored to death and missing questions that I would have gotten right if I actually focused and read the material.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

A & I Lit is easy if you have (or are willing to get) some experience reading poetry, drama and other "classic" literary works.

I'm in the "one exam a day" camp, but you can in theory take as many as your testing site will allow.

Free Clep Prep.com

Favorite clep-prep site. Might give you some ideas of "layering" exams as well.
