I have taken a CLEP test many years ago but since then my school said it has adopted a faster system.
In the past they would have to fill out forms and send them by snail mail but now they do everything electronically so its much much faster: as soon as they receive the credit verification from CLEP they add it to your account. No other work is required.
I was wondering if anyone's school has the same system and what is your experience with receiving credit on your transcript.
Any info is welcomed. Thanks!

This electronic service is a new for many universities. CLEP does offer to send their exam results to your designated university electronically, but your university needs to be set up with CLEP. There is no cost for this service, but I wonder how long it will be before this becomes the norm as so many are used to the official paper transcript.

Excelsior usually gets it within a few business days for me (3 or 4), but I go to a pretty efficient testing center which might have something to do with that, they don't even require appointments. DSST too.

If anyone is interested, I always thought COSC did a pretty good job too - they were pretty quick and usually it didn't take more than a week or so. I can't remember exactly, but I do recall that they were also very fast at getting Straighterline credit as well.

Just realize that the closer you are to NJ (where CLEP Services is located) or MN (DSST support), the faster your results will arrive at your university. Of course, if you are taking your exam on the computer, the results are transmitted electronically to CLEP and DSST and processed in a timely manner. If you test at one of the test centers who only offer paper/pencil exams, the official results to your university will take longer as your test center needs to mail the scantron, that scantron needs to get processed through their incoming mail, scanned, results printed and then processed into the mail. This is why so many of the testing programs give such a wide timeframe of 2-3 weeks. Imagine taking a paper/pencil CLEP exam at a CA test center and your university is also in CA. Even if the scantron is sent via overnight delivery to CLEP, there are still the other steps to be worked through before that official transcript enters first-class mail going from NJ back to CA.
