Boston U, Mississippi State, or Auburn

Yeah, you'll have to pit a few interesting institutions against your 'desired' choice and see which one comes up on top, again you want to have a backup or two just in case. So, that would be 3 top choices and 3 backup options...

Got answers on Mississippi State. For context, this person holds a director-level position, working in banking.

1. Did you have to buy books? "Yes but this was in 2004-2005."
2. How long/fast? "I did the one-year fast track. I started in August and finished in July."
3. What were the classes like? "Two words: busy work. A lot of papers and a lot of group assignments."
4. What were the assessments like? "This depends. I remember my accounting exams being really tough and all were cumulative. Other classes relied more on the busywork grades with easy exams."
5. What did it end up costing? [Note these are 2004 prices] "I think it was close to $10,000. In today's world that's more like $30,000."

"I'll add the professors were super engaged. They don't want you to fail. There were no 'gotcha' professors like I experienced in undergrad."

Hope this helps. I'll try to reach out to an Ole Miss MBA I know and see if I can get answers on that program.

Ole Miss MBA answers. (Note the person answering was in the program a bit over a decade ago.)

1.Did you have to buy books?
Yeah, you have to buy books like normal.
2.How long/fast:
Program is 1 year in person and 2 years online. I did it online. They called it Executive MBA at the time. It's a shorter program than most because there's no specialty.
3. What were classes like:
Remedial as far as I was concerned. Was like taking my undergraduate again except 7 years later.
4. What were assessments like?
Online was open-book. At the time, in-class was not. I took advantage of the open-book and had everything printed out and spread around me on the floor with the pages marked.
5. What did it end up costing?
Cost was free for me as a [university] employee. The reason though that Ole Miss MBA consistently ranks in top 50 US News and World Report is b/c it is a "bargain." It's really affordable compared to other programs.
