Hey All!

Trying to figure out if I can get a concentration in Computer Information Systems all through alt credit. Anyone willing to review and add?

Required courses:

Students select six(6) credits from the following:

Database Management (3)
Data Center Management (3)
Data Communications Systems (3)

Study.com/other options -

???? Not sure!

Programming Languages 6:

Study.com options -

COMPSCI 113: Programming in Python - new one added today!
Computer Science 111: Programming in C = TESU COS-116 : C Programming 3
Computer Science 112: Programming in C++ = TESU COS-213 : C++ Programming 3

The Study.com programming in C course asks for a pretty advanced final project, and looking at the course materials i was pretty sure i couldn't learn enough to be able to do it. I signed up for a Udemy course on C programming and am going to do that alongside it.

The Database Management class looks doable, it is just SQL.

They are also letting me use Study.com Digital Marketing and Advertising as an area of study elective for CIS, so i wonder if they wuold let someone use it for the certificate as well.

Interesting, Sarah! Are you going for the BSBA-CIS?

Thanks!

There is a management information systems dsst, as well as straighterline, ed4credit and study.com I believe.

Also, Idk what it would count for but onlinedegree's intro to programming is only $9.

Yeah, that's the same concern I have and I also can't see me ever using C or C++ either on top of it.

I am actually interested in the Programming in Python, so I'm glad they've added that today!

Wonder if I can use these under "Programming" requirements! Then it looks like everything would fit!

Computer Science 204: Database Programming

Computer Science 113: Programming in Python
