Business Administration Management and Leadership Bachelor fastest UMPI class plan
#1
Hello,
If there is a thread that already exists with this information, I did not find the specific answer that I was looking for.
So I've finally decided to finish my Bachelor's. I love the selfpace option that UMPI offers.
I'm going for my Bachelor's in Business Administration with Management and Leadership emphasis.
I know that you have to take at least 30 credits with UMPI, so my question is, what are the easiest / fastest 30 credits to take with them for this degree.
I've looked at many of the degree plan spreadsheets and there are lots of alternate credit sources for the class's such as Sophia, etc.
Between past college, the military, and Sophia Learning I have 335 credits spread out over lots of stuff. I've done 41 of the class's on Sophia. And have about 11 UL ACE recommended Management and Leadership classes from the military on my Joint Service Transcript (3 UL credit each). Guess we'll see what they will allow those to cross over to.
With that in mind, I'm wanting to blast through my UMPI class's as fast as possible. I just applied and sent all my official transcripts, so still waiting on the official review. But I know I'm gonna have to take 30 credits with them.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If you have 335 credits already, I would wait and see what your transcript evaluation shows. Keep in mind what I consider easy, others may not. There are some classes that I thought were a piece of cake and many others are struggling with. We all have different experience and knowledge along with our interests which can help determine the difficulty level of a course.

Solid question, @rachel83az. If the OP is missing science or language, SOPHIA is a perfect place to knock them out:

Spanish 1

Introduction to Chemistry + Introduction to Chemistry Lab

Even with minimal or no Spanish skills, Sophia's layout supports a new language learner, and you should do just fine. If you have a strong understanding of another language, you can also secure credits through ACTFL. I used them for language credits before SOPHIA was an option; however, if I weren't fluent in German, I would have done Spanish through Sophia.

I do not have foreign language, and I just did more research and have decided I want to get 3 degree's through them now (well, more like 2, one with 2 Minors), that have a lot of overlap.
Bachelor of Arts in Business Admin - Management and Leadership
Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Management Minor
Bachelor of Liberal Studies - Education Minor

I have a lot of Leadership, Management, and Teaching experience through the military. I guess it just depends on how they view it on the JST and what they'll give credit for.
Currently working on Sophia - Spanish 1, and Intro to Sociology. And then I'll do Spanish 2.

Here are my previous College, JST, and ACE credits from Sophia. Hopefully they will allow a lot of my military credit to be applied to some of the Management, Leadership, and Teaching classes.

You only need 3 credits of foreign language, unless you're going for the BA History.

If you already have a lot of teaching experience not sure why you would spend the time and money on additional liberal degrees. Especially the Management minor after securing a BABA in Management & Leadership.

If you have teaching experience and would like to continue or start teaching in business and leadership, your BABA carries more weight. Now, if you have no teaching experience, it is not uncommon for some to secure a teaching degree in the liberal arts with a minor in the subject they would like to teach.

Just looking to save you some money. Finish the BABA and use that extra money to finish the Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership at UMPI. You then will have created some leverage for your teaching aspirations.

You won't be able to complete 2 BLS degrees. You can't complete the Management Minor if you earn a BABA in Management & Leadership. You'll have already completed the minor courses. I am not sure you can complete the BLS after the BA. You can complete the Ba and add on the Education Studies minor from the BLS. That's the easiest thing to do.
