Basic Algebra question
#11
I get it.

Ok, they give you a line on a graph, and (for this example) the both the x&y axis of the graph are marked in increments of 1. The line intersects 2 points.

If the line is going up and right, its a positive slope
If the line is going down and right, its a negative slope.

Start at the first left point on the line. How many grid lines up or down do you have to move to reach the same Y (vertical) value as the second point? This is the Rise (even if the line slopes down :p )

Now go back to the first left point on the line. How many grid lines to the right do you have to go to reach the same horizontal point as the second point? This is the Run.

So, you now have your Rise and Run. The slope is = Rise/Run (and be careful, ALEKS LOVES them fractions.)

I was jumping ahead of myself with what I thought you were trying to do in ALEKS... The stuff that I tried showing you up there is coming soon though, if you haven't hit it already.. Hehe.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully
