Online Linear Algebra Course (Except SNHU)
#1
Hello,

I am seeking an online linear algebra course for college credit that I can take over the summer. I prefer a class that does not have proctored exams and would like options other than the course offered by Southern New Hampshire University. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

@sjdkn1, Welcome to the board, have you done a search already on the board? Maybe even a google search? Did you check your local colleges? My recommendation is to review some posts and threads if possible, go the community college route for cheaper, easier and faster too... Please have a look at the WIKI for college credit suggestions. Here's two links on the WIKI with options: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Obscure_Credits and https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sources_of_Credit

Community colleges are your best bet, although there will be competition. You're already registering late for the summer term in most places.

It looks like Montgomery County CC has spots open in one of its summer sections for MAT 220: https://www.mc3.edu/courses/mat-220-linear-algebra

You can get on the waitlist here if that doesn't work out:

Oakton College MAT 260: https://catalog.oakton.edu/search/?searc...ar+algebra
Washtenaw CC MTH 197: https://catalog.wccnet.edu/current/courses/mth-197.php
Northern Virginia CC MTH 267: https://online.nvcc.edu/schedules/summer/sumth.html

Or try your local CC, most offer linear algebra in some capacity.
In Progress:
* TESU BACS (goal of august '24 graduation)

Completed:
* C++ Programming Certificate, Washtenaw Community College (August '23)
* Bachelors of Arts, a brick & mortar university (2020)

Future:
Georgia Tech OMSCS (Fall '24 onward!)

Rio Salado College has a linear algebra course in the summer with multiple start dates, which is convenient, however it has proctored exams. I think it will be hard to find a course without proctored exams.

Looks like we've found a new winner for cheapest RA credits for Calc III and Differential Equations (and maybe Linear Algebra).

Oakton College has an “online” rate for out-of-district and out-of-state students taking online courses. It’s the same as the in-district rate for all courses: 136.25 per semester hour.

The other colleges with high general out-of-state rates you note might also have better “online” rates.

i saw that
but its right in between 2 resident listings

Residents of District 535** $136.25
Online classes (includes hybrid) $136.25
District residents over age 60  $68.12

so I thought it might only apply to residents

I think only Liberty University offers non-proctored RA Math courses. Every other college, cc or university, cheap or expensive, requires online proctoring for exams
