Backdoor bachelor's business degree?
#21
ss20ts you are right about the pain the backside that is the extra 30UL credits but letting this aside ( since you will need them anyway), what else is the problem with them being complicated to work with?
The 30UL have to be in the same area than the mayor or can be also in general electives? That will make a lot of difference since will give a lot of flexibility. In the case of EC you can use different sources, which make it more doable.
If COSC does not need the cornerstone will make it a great place for second degrees cost wise. Still, they have other issues. There is no perfect place.

They don't want to give second bachelor's degrees. They are very difficult to try to get information and approval for the second bachelor's degree. I tried for 2 months and gave up. You can't have the same major with the second bachelor's degree. There was a number of credits that had to be in the major. I don't remember what it was now. it is NOT flexible. I was going for a business degree so there's a ton of places to get credit, but Excelsior doesn't want to give second bachelor's degrees. At one point I was told no and to just change my application to a master's degree which wasn't what I wanted. They are an absolute nightmare with second bachelor's degrees.

Thanks for the clarification, because EC was my backup plan... if it is so hard is a let down.

I think the 30cr of UL have to be in the major.  I could be wrong, but I seem to remember this coming up.

I can't remember if all 30 UL had to be in the major but it wouldn't surprise me. They REALLY do NOT want to issue a second bachelor's degree. I don't understand what their deal is. I mean if you don't want my money another school does.

From their website:
"120 credits are required for the Bachelor of Science in Psychology. As part of these credits, for the core component of this degree, a minimum of 33 credits must be earned in the field of psychology, of which 18 must be at the upper level."

If I have to make 30 UL in psy in place of the normal 18UL that other people have to do is going to be really discouraging (to not say something else).
I'm doing psy credits if I arrive to have enough I will update. But really, everyday UMPI seems a better place. The pity is they do not have Psychology if no I will b already there (and understand I love the concept of COSC and EC to help people get a degree but... they are becoming more and more complicated to deal with).

If you want Psych, do TESU. If you do an easy 16-credit term, you don't pay for the residency waiver.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

UMPI does have an online psychology degree. It's not part of YourPace which is what all of us did. The catch is the tuition. If you're not a Maine resident you may pay out of state tuition which is high. You are also on a semester program. TESU will be cheaper and faster.

Another option is to take the psych classes you want and then apply for a BLS at UMPI. Pick one of the 5 minors and you're done. Management would be a good minor if you're interested in industrial psychology.

ss20ts: has to be a bachelor of Psychology, for evaluation in Europe. I do not know how a BLS will be evaluated and anabin does not present the option.

If I have already a degree and I go to TESU-> do I have to do the SOS-110 Critical Information Literacy' ?
Can I do in the same semester the SOS-110 and the capstone?

and if I inscribe myself in 2 degrees at TESU ( a BS and a BA) can I do in the same semester the capstone for both? (for the flat tuition rate).

If you mean BSBA and BA Psych, yes. You can do both capstones in the same term. And if you already have a foreign degree, you skip the cornerstone and the other gen ed requirements. All you have to worry about is the AOS for your chosen degree(s).
