BSBA Evaluation HELP ~ Please
#1
Good morning everyone!! Well after two weeks off from school stuff I am thinking I MAY continue on for my BSBA with TESC. I have laid out a draft game plan on my remaining credits. Pending any changes after TESC reviews my last few classes for my AAS this is how I think it will look. I still need about 66 credits to complete this degree. My goal is to do as many classes as I can through Penn Foster, I know I could do alot of them by CLEP or DSST but I really do not want the stress of studying and getting all nervous. I already assigned a proctor (a co-worker) with PF and waiting for their approval. I am up for any other suggestions. Is there a limit on how many PF classes can transfer?

Also, the reason I chose this degree is all the BA's require a Capstone and I am trying to avoid that, but again I'm up for to hear from the expertise of this forum!!!

Thanks in advance...I cant wait to hear what everyone thinks.

I don't know much about Penn Foster, but from what I've seen on here, they do have a course that will cover the Strategic Management requirement for it. There is a pretty recent thread about it on here.

Have you looked into Straighterline? I did a bunch of courses with them last fall for my BSBA and it was pretty quick and cheap. I know they have courses that can fulfill your following requirement needs: macro and micro economics, business communications, statistics, financial and managerial accounting, intro to business or business ethics (business elective requirement), and they have a new business law course, but I haven't heard about how it transfers to TESC.
#3
Thanks for the info!!! I have used SL and I liked them until they required the proctor. I don't always know where I will be in order to take the test at a specific time and I'm not of fan of them having access to my PC. I know I should get over that and maybe I will. And for the cost of PF it includes the books so it probably evens out at the end especially if I cant finish in one month and have to continue with an extra $99 for another month.

And yes I did see the strategic management class for PF I think I put that down on my list.

Just a few things... You already have computer programming under H: Natural Sci/Math - can that be moved under A: Programming? It looks like they are rolling one sh from C: CIS Electives into 4: Business Electives - I would ask them to leave the sh in CIS and just pick up a business elective class. That will also leave you needing just one CIS class and not two. I don't believe you can use ALEKS Earth Science for I: General Educ Elects - only their math classes. I know you said you are not keen on CLEP/DSST, but Analyzing and Interpreting Literature is supposed to be pretty easy and you could knock out your C: Humanities Electives and replace that ALEKS Earth Science, with just the one exam.

Sorry ALEKS Earth Science was meant to be PF Earth Science.

I thought the same thing about the programming but I guess I will have to email TESC as well as the electives.

If you're talking about CIS-344, it's the TEEX course that's only worth 2 credits.

Yea I hope I will just need one more 3 credit course and it will count towards the total credits, does anyone know if that is the case? Since I already have 9 credits. Thoughts? And I will do one of the DSST MIS or TECEP Networking and maybe reclass the programming as Albativo stated.

It's easier to find business electives than CIS electives. It would be better and easier to find and complete a 3 credit CIS course/test and then test out of a business course even if it means going over in business electives.

Now, that I take a closer look at it, it doesn't add up. You are right. If they kept the extra credit in CIS electives, it should be covered by the other CIS elective courses and all that should be left are the 3 credits.

Okay, I took another look at it. :p It looks as if one empty credit was bumped up from business electives to CIS electives. 7 credits are completed in business electives and there should be 2 more left for a total of 9.
