Stuck in admissions process
#11
Another thing to be aware of is that even if you manage to fool another school like TESU into admitting you, it can come back to bite you at graduation time when they audit your credits. Schools have access to the National Student Clearinghouse, kind of a credit reporting agency for academia. They will do a search there for records of any previous schools you've attended. So, you might do all of the work, then get held up just before graduation.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

I understand it is frustrating, because I am going through the same situation. They need my transcripts from a trade school I went to 14 years ago. Which I have been able to request, the problem lies in that trade school only sends it via mail. I was finally able to talk to the trade school last week and "as a courtesy" they sent it "early", which was 5 weeks after I requested and paid for the transcripts. Since there processing time as 7-8 weeks. They claim to have mailed it out this week on Monday and since UMPI is currently closed due to power outages in the area, it seems unlikely I will be able to begin the Spring Session 1.

Once I realized they may be possible I went ahead and submitted my application to East Texas A&M University and submitted all my electronic transcripts. In the hopes that one of them work out for the early Spring Session. If not I will have to aim for Spring 2.

You mentioned that if you don't get in to Spring 1 that your credits will go down the drain and that simply isn't true. You may have to postpone 1 session or 2, but don't get discouraged when you are so close.

Yes our situations are very similar. I also submitted my application to TAMUC like an hour ago lol and sent the required documents but haven't received a confirmation email yet.
I am limited by time so a Spring 2 admission might delay my future plans or even cancel them.

It may take a couple weeks to hear back from TAMUC, it took 2 weeks to the day for my wife to hear back and I applied the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and still haven't heard back. But they were closed the Wed-Fri of Thanksgiving week. So I will count next Monday as 2 weeks. We will see what happens. If you are pressed for time perhaps WGU is an option for you since they start every month?

Small update : I was offered to start in Spring 1 as a non-degree seeking student and switch when UMPI receives my old transcripts. Just to confirm : will I be able to change to a degree seeking status during Spring 1 and still finish in one single term as planned?

That question should be directed to UMPI.

I did direct it to UMPI, but there have been delays in replying to emails recently due to a snowstorm, so I'm checking if there's anyone here who experienced a similar situation.
But thank you for your input!

Only UMPI can answer this question. Don't go by what others have experienced as a non-degree seeking student. Every experience and situation is different.

Definitely reach out to your UMPI Advisor regarding this, but generally as a Non-Degree Seeking Student in YourPace, you are limited in what you can do. Prior students who were accepted into this status were limited to 3 courses in that term total. They could not accelerate and take any more than that for that entire 8 week term. Also, you cannot graduate in that term becuase you are not a degree seeking student, so you would have to take a second term at a minimum in order to be admitted into a degree seeking status and apply for graduation after completing the 40 sem hour residency and major/minor requirements.

The residency requirement is 30 credits not 40 semester hours.
