BABA Upper Level vs Lower Level Courses

You're welcome...The leading choice should fall on the assignment count for those courses in SDC. If there is more than one assignment, then your son would be able to complete the course faster at UMPI. I don't have access to confirm the assignment count without an active account; however, I believe the course below has one assignment. Just click on those you listed or the one below, and it's an easy confirmation of the assignment count.

312 Advanced Operations Management BUS transferred in as 415 Operations Management and was a manageable course at SDC.

Excellent. I will recommend he check out BUS 312 Advanced Operations Mgmt (SDC)/BUS 415 Ops Mgmt (UMPI) while he does the BIO101L Biology Lab course at SDC during his 30 day membership. 

Basically, it seems like the best course of action would be for him to try and complete as many LL credits as possible through Sophia (combined with his existing RA credits from 1.5 years of his traditional University credit), take the BIO 101L and BUS 312 at SDC, take as many courses as possible to 90 credit hours, and then transfer to UMPI. I am encouraging him to put his credits earned here on Degree Forum and get feedback on creating a degree plan.

Do you have experience or does anyone else have experience with how hard the Chemistry plus lab on Sophia is? I know that Chemistry can be harder for some people than Chemistry and this was the case with my son.

Since the Intro to Chem with lab on Sophia is now allowed to transfer for the lab science requirement at UPMI, is it now possible for a person to take as many classes as possible close to the maximum of 90 allowed with Sophia and then take the remaining 30 classes at UMPI? Previously, it was recommended that people would take the BIO 101L course with SDC. Now, it sounds like someone could take 90 credit hours of Sophia and then the remaining 30 (or other remaining classes like English 104 and 105) UL classes at UMPI? I would think there is a cost advantage to taking all Sophia classes if you have the annual membership and then transfer to UMPI vs. Study.com.

My son would be bringing in about 28 RA classes from a traditional university (Youngstown State Univ) and he will post the credits and get advice on a degree plan.

To your question, yes, there is value in knocking out as many courses (that will transfer) as possible for the BABA degree. The goal is to end up with 11/12 - 14 classes max to finish at UMPI. With the lion's share of LL/GEC opportunities at Sophia and UL opportunities at SDC, you can easily hit that goal. Once that part is complete, you'll want a strong game plan to complete the remainder of the courses at UMPI as quickly as possible. I hesitate to put a term goal because we all have different capabilities on how fast one can complete courses.

That's it– don't overthink the process because your son is well on his way.
