I just ran our numbers, based on the new location. I quit one of the two jobs I had before I left, but I still have the second job. According the the second link our combined household income puts us in the top 3% for our area. Most of that is his earnings though, and it still never feels like we have much. He has two kids in top colleges now though plus one still in high school, and pays out a huge alimony to his ex-wife. So we aren't exactly able to eat out regularly or take exotic vacations or anything of the sort. It's basically like I'm working very few hours a week and more like he's supporting 6 people on 1 pay-check. Then again, if I weren't around he'd eat out a lot, be forced to do his own laundry, and run his own errands. I guess it all comes out in the mix.
