Do you know if they require the 30 credits to be from an actual college or will an RA credit do?

RA credit IS from an actual college.  It will be on a college transcript.

If you mean will they count things like TECEP and UExcel exams, then that's a different question.  It certainly can't hurt to try, if that's what he wants to do.  But to be safe, I'd probably just take courses through TEL and get them put on a transcript and be done with it.

BTW - this is really interesting.  I wonder how many other states have this?!?

Through TEL 30 credits would be 2000. Does that sound right? Its something to think about. Im not sure if the cost makes it worth it or not. I am going to see if I can talk to someone from the state. Sometimes it helps to talk to a live person. Sometimes.

Knock it down to 24cr for $1600.

My daughter recently was accepted into TESU @ 18. They required that she have her 30 RA already. She had them from a local university through dual enrollment. I did not realize that before applying, but I am thankful we had it. She started @ 16. Now so much is available online, you should be able to do most of the credits at the local CC online. I realize that is more expensive, but that would be my suggestion. Then you could apply those to TESU for the 4 year degree.

Another possible source of RA credit would be UExcel exams. After proctor fees, they'll be right around the same price as TEL courses.

New York has this also for 24 credits to a HS Diploma. It says from an accredited college, but we are going to transfer his credits to Excelsior and apply anyway.

New Jersey stated emphatically that is must be from an accredited college/university, but I say transfer them into a school and give it a shot. We are going for NY cuz it's 6 credits less.

NJ made it clear they have to be accredited from a college, but if you transfer them in, I don't know if they will allow it.

Has anyone applied at TESU with 24 RA credits as the remaining six will be earned at TESU? Will apply for a waiver in August on the student's 18th birthday. Student has CLEP and Sophia credits also.
