And then leaders in corporate america who went UNC and other schools alike frown on online-learning, testing, self-paced courses. Amazing, but not news. It's all about Sports Ranking!

This is the institution I work for, they have all kinds of investigations going on constantly - they even send out frequent update emails....big mess. BUT you should watch the documentary on Netflix streaming called "Schooled: The Price of College Sports." UNC's scandal is included, but so are some others. ;p

Don't worry - there's a way for non-athletic people to get into college competition (and scholarships). VIDEO GAMING! Get on the Warcraft or Call of Duty team! I'm not making this up! I wish I were! Here's an article! College to offer video game scholarships - Chicago Tribune

Google "colleges recruiting gamers" - you'll get pages of links!

"Time to hit that console agin, son. Better get them skills -- I mean kills -- up! There's a recruitin' feller comin' over from th' University on Saturday..." Sad

As someone who used to work in that industry, there's big money in these games, not just in the prizes but also in the associated sponsorships that are involved. South Korea for example, where there's a mandatory conscription for males at a certain age, had its army create a team for the purposes of competing in Starcraft: Brood War, based on how big the game is over there. And LoL is quite possibly the biggest at this time.

Heck, when I was in community college of all things we of the debate team were referred to as "mental athletes", and were equally funded as other teams. I thought it was a joke, until I saw the hotel room I stayed in for a competition I attended for fun.

I wouldn't knock it for the money it would bring in alone, and I'd say there's lesser chances of fraud here, at least since there's a lot of thinking involved in things like these.

Edit: That being said: http://www.theonion.com/articles/there-w...ask,37175/

Regionally accredited schools at their finest! They won't give credit for hard work done at DETC schools, but by golly if you can throw a ball they'll shovel credits onto your transcript!
