There are just too many problems with them. I don't really understand this approach/stance when people regularly recommend other schools such as Excelsior, Walden, South, LU and other dubious international schools get recs on this forum. All of these are mired in various controversies.
I don't usually involve myself in recommending international schools.
LU, or Liberty University Online, is the most well-known religious college. It's recommended if you're looking for a religious college.
EU, or Excelsior, is the only college that will accept 114 Alt credit transfer credits.
As for Walden, there's nothing particularly noteworthy about it. We don't offer any degree plans for it. I do recall some people pursuing master's degrees at that college.
Regarding South College, I believe you are referring to their DBA or Master's programs. I'm not very familiar with them.
APU only takes a max of 60 non-traditional transfer credits so this won't work for a lot of people

APU is a good school, they've got some interesting degrees on offer that isn't available at the Big 3 or competency based providers we recommend. The main reason they aren't as recommended, they aren't as transfer credit friendly - the max number of credits aren't as high as 75%. If someone is looking for specific degrees and have tuition assistance/reimbursement, they'll be a good choice...

They accept CompTIA certificate credits too

They have quite some cool courses you won't find that easily online. Such as science Fiction Literature. Lots of military history classes. 1000 USD per class is out of my range, but it's nice to keep this info handy. They accept a lot of FEMA credit. I wonder if one could credit launder those free FEMA credits that aren’t accepted almost anywhere.

I definitely see where you are coming from. Especially with the dubious international schools… particularly ENEB. I fell for that allure. The coursework is lacking. It’s really just self-taught. Kinda wish I hadn’t spent the $250 bucks. But, I also knew it was a risk and chose to spend the money.
I think Walden got attention because they used to offer your first term for free. I did that, but found I got exactly zero credits completed. They had mandatory zero credit courses I had to get done first. But it taught me that CBE wasn’t a good fit for me.

I transferred the maximum amount of credits (90). I completed a dozen classes. I was awarded my BA (Military Management) in 2002. All of that was before the university moved its headquarters from Virginia to West Virginia, started to call itself the American Public University System, and achieved regional accreditation. I am very happy with my American Military University experience. I think American Military University/American Public University System holds up very well when compared with its competitors, the other colleges and universities marketed towards active duty military personnel and veterans. I am truly amazed at the growth of the institution. I attended commencement in the summer of 2002. It was held at the Army Navy Club, downtown, DC. Less than 20 graduates attended. Most were awarded a master of something degree. Of note, American Military University was created by an active duty Marine Corps officer to provide an additional option for U.S. military officers to pursue Professional Military Education (PME). These past many years commencement has been held at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland. According to a PR Newswire article, there were over 14,000 graduates at commencement this year. I make n effort to stay up to date regarding my alma matter

I'm interested in their BS in Mathematics degree. Its curriculum looks legit.

You can do BA in Mathematics at SNHU ( https://www.snhu.edu/online-degrees/bach...athematics) which is definitely a bit more persuasive. For literally the same price per credit and SNHU has a bit more of transfer possible. While AMU/APUS allows for 90 transfer, they allow only 60 with ACE and it's a bit difficult to pick up exactly 60/90. At SNHU it is possible.
I personally think that AMU makes sense if one wants to get cool degrees or certificates like "Counterintelligence", "Homeland Security", etc. Then it looks great. Otherwise there are usually a bit better options for classic degrees.

If you're looking for their BS Math, and you were previous looking at the BS Comp Sci, why not get the double major at TESU? One degree, two majors, one cost of a flat rate term, you can get the two majors for around $6K for courses that are offered (4 classes plus capstone), you just need to transfer in the courses not offered at TESU to fulfill the major requirements.
