Exactly! Yes, it does make it more difficult, but, hey, at least there is really no way of failing the course entirely -- you will earn the credit eventually! Wink I will warn you though -- the last 5% or so seems nearly impossible to complete; don't get too frustrated when you see 68% and 69% pop up on your assessment score screen 5 or 6 times. banghead Rolleyes

When do they give me another assessment? Do I take it whenever I feel ready or when I get by 70% of the learning? Is it automatic?

They will give you an assessment periodically (I think one is given each time you complete 20 topics? Not sure exactly). However, you can go into your "Master Account" and there is an option to give the "student" an assessment. Just select that option, log out of your "Master Account," log into your "Student Account," and the assessment will be waiting (it won't allow you to get to the pie chart until you complete the assessment). You can take it whenever you feel ready, but chances are that you won't get 70% on the assessment until you have completed approximately 70% on the pie chart during the learning mode. Hope this helps! Smile

29, don't hesitate to find a tutor to help you through the rough spots...I had a lot of trouble getting the math done, struggled through it on my own. We got a tutor for my daughter (about 10 hours total) and it made all the difference! She got through CLEP College Math and the DSST College Algebra with a little quality direction. Your saving a fortune with ALEKS, spend a few dollars getting specific help if you need to.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

If I get to the point I need a tutor, I will just throw in the towel, never needed a tutor in my life. Of course, didn't have the best of grades either. Some of this is crazy. I got an assessment today, to show where I was at, however, I noticed I got assessed with questions I haven't covered yet. I'm just going down the line with the blue piece of the pie, then I'll move onto the graphing ect...Rough stuff at times.

I just started 4 days ago and it's tougher than I thought....First assessment was 10% tonight my second assessment is 20%............this is gonna take some time.....But you have to do what you have to do!

I've been pacing along but this is definately going to take me a long time. I can't even give a precise time, however, whatever it takes. Like I said, I am not in any kind of hurry. I'll practice it as long as it takes. If I don't complete my BAST, at least I'll have licked College Algebra. Looks like a chipping away kind of thing, not get it done in 4 months the whole degree like some here have said.

I think that is true. I just completed my assessment on Beg. Algebra and thought I passed. I had all of my notes and copies out ready. I finish the test and the score said 39%. I completed 108/300 on the pie chart. So I will keep plugging at it and hopefully reach the 70% within the next two weeks before school starts.
