I have the 2009 Official CLEP Study Guide. I see that the 2010 version is available now. Do I need to get that, too, for the tests I want to take next year? Do the actual exams change a lot from year to year? Do the practice questions change, so that it would be good to have 2 sets of sample questions to use?
Thank you for your help with this!

Seems doubtful. I've been using an REA general test guide from 2004 and it's still helpful (hard, but helpful).
They like to turn out new versions of stuff every year so that people will buy the new versions. It would be worth it, though, if the practice questions changed. Perhaps someone with both guides can fill us in.

Nooooo. If money is no object, it can't hurt--but I don't think it's necessary. I used a copy that was at least a couple of years old. You should just take a look at it at the bookstore and if it doesn't have anything new that you need, you don't need it. I never compared books to see if they changed the sample questions, though.

I can't say about the 2010 edition, but I have the 2009 and my local library has the 2002 version. They are identical (exact same questions in the exact same order) except the 2009 version has a extra question or two in each section. It's not worth the money to buy a new version for just one or two questions, in my opinion.

I have one that is the 2008 version and one that is the 2005 version they are almost exactly the same. I really would not waste the money.

One test had changed when I reviewed the 2008 book. I don't think you need to worry.

Thank you all for saving me more money! I never would have guessed that the book had changed so little over this long time period.
