Good morning. I'm a returning student working Help Desk. I'd like to finish a Software Engineering degree as quickly as possible. WGU seems to be a good option for me. What is the process for applying/transferring credits like?
For example, I have credits from 3 different colleges over time. I want to take as many Sophia/SDC courses as possible. Shall I take all the Sophia/SDC coursework first and then apply to WGU? Can I verify which previous courses will transfer before applying to WGU so that I'm not locked out from transferring new coursework? I'm not sure about the order of these operations. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You would need to apply to WGU to see how your courses will transfer. WGU typically does not take courses over five years old.
You can also apply to TESU and see how your courses will transfer there.
Then pick the best option after that.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

+1, I agree with the above info in the previous posts... In addition to that, you may want to do a balanced mix/match of certs, degree, experience. For example, if you can get Coursera Certs (with ACE credits), match that up with UMPI BABA PM & IS, and add the experience you already have, it may offset the need for WGU BSSD - Software Development degree. If you really want to do the WGU degree, review the transfer guide posted earlier...

I too would recommend applying to TESU for their BACS, especially since you already have RA college credits. They may be a better fit with your time to study, take many older credits, and likely not much more cost than WGU (likely even less if you need two terms).
Amberton - MSHRB
TESU - ASNSM/BSBA
