I'd love it for someone who has taken this class to chime in. I was getting ready to start it and one of the expectations for the class said to expect to spend 18 hours a week on the class! That seems like a ridiculous amount of time considering it's only 3 credits.
Can anyone weigh in?

Every class says they take 18 hours per week. Not even close. It's fine. Jump in. You'll be okay.

It could take that much time. It doesn't have to take that much time.

I hope it’s easier than Sophia. It took me over 120 hours for English 1 and 150 for English 2

There are more writing assignments with Sophia but (at least for ENG 102) the assignments are shorter and may be easier for some people. IIRC, there is one longer assignment at the very end.

Yes. And the grader with English 2 kept me hanging on a thread till the end. Tough course for 100 level. I know people that just recently took eng 1 and 2 at community colleges and Didn’t have near as much work as Sophias was, that’s a testament to the legitimacy of Sophia.

Oops, just realized that I missed a word! I wrote "There are more writing assignments with Sophia" but it should have said "There are more writing assignments THAN with Sophia". That is, ASU has you doing more assignments in general. But these are mostly shorter assignments. Sophia has longer and more in-depth assignments.

Yes. The community college students I was taking about had typically 300-500 word essays And easy grading . Sophia has you doing 1000-2000 with strict grading especially English 2.
