ASU 100 Million Learners - All graduate courses now available
#91
Hey, @3ichael7ambert! You finished the non-credit advanced certificate, right? Did you end up getting an actual certificate, or was it just a badge? If an actual certificate, would you mind sharing what it looks like? You know, for people who care about that kind of thing.  Blush

This is the email I just got:

Thanks for reaching out. Each course costs $100 per course for grading. Should you decide to pursue academic credit, cost is $500 per course (or $500 per 3 credits). Please let me know if you are interested in pursuing for academic credit and we can reach out.

I did respond asking if it was possible to do one course at a time for transcription or if financial assistance was available ... Just waiting for that reply

What was the point of paying to grade them then? I guess if you wanted to enroll in Thunderbird then they would directly transfer to their programs, but then why not have that as a fee when you enroll?

They still want $20k for their Masters of Leadership and Management after this certificate, which still isnt affordable when you consider one can get comparable degrees for well less.

Thunderbird is now just an extension of ASU selling overpriced degrees. Very disappointing.

I'm not happy with the fact that they were not upfront about the costs. I won't say that this is a bad deal, however. 15 credits that can be applied to a Master's degree and a certificate from a school that has some name recognition is a really good outcome. Especially if transferred to a school that accepts a high amount of graduate transfer credits, of which there are a few. Amberton and FHSU come to mind, since I've considered programs from them before, but there are several others.

I was told they tried to model it after their universal learner courses. I have never taken them, but you supposedly pay $25 dollars and then a higher fee to get it transcribed. Either way there should be transparency... Most do not have $3,000 laying around.
