Thanks for the congratulations, everyone!

Prloko Wrote:So how much money do you figure you saved at your B&M from CLEP?
Let's see!
  • I took (and passed) 14 CLEP tests.
  • My college awarded 45 credit hours (its maximum for transfer credit) for my CLEPs. (They award only 3 credits for most of the 6-credit CLEP exams, which I was OK with because I had an excuse to take more of them! I struggled with chronic CLEP addiction.)
  • Tuition in 2011-12 (when I took my CLEPs) was about $330 for a 3-credit class. Once you factor in textbooks, that's over $400 per class.
  • So you're looking at a cost savings of over $6,000. That's not to mention the time saved - in terms of both my own time and being able to earn a degree more quickly.

In other words, CLEP is an awesome deal!
Course clear! You got a card.
